LEADING Manchester United out on to the famous Old Trafford pitch against Wigan Athletic will be Harry Steed son of Betfred IT Support Manager, Joe Steed, after he won a competition to be United’s mascot in the Betfred-sponsored Premier League clash.
Betfred founder and boss Fred Done wanted to share his love of the Red Devils and offered his employees’ children the chance to lead out their heroes by asking them to write in to him explaining why they should be chosen.
Seven-year-old Harry a Year 2 pupil at Ellenbrook Primary in Worsley, Manchester, who plays for Boothstown Under 7s ‘Hawks’, submitted the winning entry; however, Fred and his wife Mo were so impressed by the standard of entries that they have now promised 30 runners-up, along with a parent, tickets to other United games.
Betfred is United’s official bookmaking and online gaming partner, operating all the betting kiosks within the world famous stadium.
