Britain’s biggest independent bookmaker Fred Done has declared the race for the SPL title over and is paying out all bets early on Celtic. Fred said “Saturday’s old firm game was last chance saloon time for The Gers and there’s no way I can see Celtic throwing away such a big lead. I’m paying out over £50,000 in my betting shops and a further £75,000 to my Betfred Call Centre clients. I can’t see any point in holding on to punters money any longer.” Fred made history in 1998 when he was the first bookmaker to pay out early when he thought his beloved Man United couldn’t be caught by Arsenal, a move that cost him £1/2 Million but doesn’t regret that kind of decision. “A bookmaker will get respect from his customers if he is prepared to stick his neck out and take a chance.
